Petitions must get in to the town clerk this month by 5pm on 1/28 if you're interested in running for a seat on the school board. You can pick up a petition from the Berlin Town Clerk and you'll need to get about 24 signatures from voters who are on the checklist in order to be added to the ballot.

A petition to support the Kellogg-Hubbard Library is being circulated and is available for signature outside the school office. The library would like to bring public library services back to the residents of the town of Berlin. This petition will allow a ballot item for consideration of the voters on town meeting day Please take a minute to sign in support this wonderful community library. If you have any questions, please call Catherine Donnis at 229-8787.

We'll soon be discussing whether or not Club Month will run this spring. In order for it to take place, we need volunteers (parents, relatives, community members, teenage helpers) to run or help run activities. Club Month traditionally is held between the end of basketball and beginning of baseball. Volunteers come in just once a week from 3:30 - 5:30pm for about a month. Sometimes with a themed activity, the people running it can vary from week to week. Activities often includes crafts, cooking, sports, games and we'd especially like to find adults who could work with older students on battery & bulb types of projects.

Winter Farmers Market - this Saturday 10am -2pm at the Vermont College gym. This is taking place the first Saturday of each month until spring.

Note that on Friday, January 18th, it may look like people stayed at school all night as it will be pajama day! Students and staff are welcome to participate by wearing their pajamas and robes. Use common sense in what is appropriate and make sure, as on any winter day, to bring your winter gear to head outside for recess!

National Girls & Women in Sports Day is tentatively set at Sunday, February 10th at Norwich University. Last year several Berlin girls enjoyed this FREE event which included working on basketball skills, lacrosse, baseball and even swimming at their indoor pool! If I recall I think it even included pizza for lunch and a t-shirt. I'm on Amanda's list to receive the latest information and will pass that along with complete details of what ages the girls must be, the hours, etc.
