BERLIN HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Curious about the part of Berlin along the Winooski before it was annexed? At the Berlin Historical Society meeting tonight (7/18/12) at 7pmthere will be a very interesting presentation. Manuel Garcia will give a talk on “Berlin before 1900 along the Winooski”. Manny has researched this area that was annexed by Montpelier about 1899 and has obtained many photos including the old BerlinTown Buildingon School Avenue and the schoolhouse that was located on Prospect Streetnear the head of School Avenue. This meeting will be held at the Berlin Town Office.
From the June minutes: "Norb talked to a Maximillian Shoenherr, a visitor from Berlin, Germany, who is a journalist and works for public radio in Germany. He was interested in our town because it had a German name. He ended up posting some interesting facts about Berlin, Vermonton Wikipedia" - which can be found here: internet.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin,_Vermont
