STUDENTS ON QUEST FOR PLAYGROUND FUNDS
At Berlin Elementary School students have been joined by their parents and others in the community on their quest to raise the funds necessary for two new pieces of playground equipment. The students are eager to see this equipment be installed this summer when the athletic fields are going to be re-done. Not only will this new equipment promote fitness during recess, but as many of you may be aware, the playground is used outside of school hours by the community. Most importantly to the kids, they're are anticipating the FUN they're going to have!
There is already great news, enough money has been raised for one piece of equipment! The students and others involved continue to work hard to reach their total fundraising goal of $18,000.00. The students have had collection containers in each of the classrooms to raise the needed funds and have lemonade stands and car washes coming up. Much appreciated donations have also been made by community members and businesses.
April is an important month for fundraising.  The company they're purchasing the equipment from needs to know by May 1st if it will be one or two pieces of equipment being ordered to have it in their schedule for delivery and set-up. Hopefully there will be volunteers who can help with the installation that will keep those costs down.
Whether you can make a donation as an individual, family, or a business, your support would be greatly appreciated. The school has a Federal Tax ID number you can use for such donations. Be sure to keep an eye out for upcoming events to support these fundraising efforts for new playground equipment. One specific way people can help is by donating your bottle returns on Saturday, May 4th (Green Up Day) from 9am - 1pm at the Berlin Elementary School in the parking lot. Thank you so much for any support you can provide.
