Notes:
There have
been conversations on the Front Porch Forum regarding the poor conditions of VT
Route 12 between Montpelier and Northfield .
Evidently this fall the state will be putting down a "leveling surface
coat" on about a two mile stretch of the road and "narrow
band" paving along much of the rest with full repaving scheduled for
2018-2019. The projected cost for the work this fall is about $250,000.

HISTORICAL SOCIETY MEETING
"MONTPELIERIZATION OF BERLIN POND"
The October meeting of the Berlin Historical Society will be
held at the Berlin Townoffice building on Wednesday, October
15, 2014 at 7:00 PM .
The main topic of the meeting will be what is covered in Chapter 12 of A Place to Pass Through – The Montpelierization of Berlin Pond. However, with all that has happened in the 23 years since our book was published we will try to bring the topic up to date.
Do you find history interesting? Additional active members are sought. Some current members won't be in the area over the winter, yet there are still projects to work on (no experience necessary).
