U-32 THEATER PRESENTS ONCE ON THIS ISLAND
The award winning High School Theater group, Stage 32, is proud to present Once On This Island, a musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. This highly original and theatrical Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale The Little Mermaid tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl, who rescues and falls in love with a wealthy boy from the other side of the island, Daniel. Unbeknownst to Ti Moune, the pompous gods who preside over the island make a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death. Told with colorful costumes, energetic dance and lively music, this musical is great for the whole family. November 14 and 15 at 7:00 PM and November 16 at 2:00 PM at the U-32 High School Theater. Tickets $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for students and seniors.

The Chronicle, U-32's student newspaper can be found on line. Many interesting reads in this week's issue, including one about "Once On This Island" which is the student production this weekend at U-32.http://www.u32.org/grades9-12/images/pdf/chronicle/chronicle_Nov_14.pdf

LOST SPORTS WATCH
Carolyn asked me to post this:
Lost at Berlin Pond on Sunday 11/9, a sports watch. My daughter's boyfriend took it and his heart rate monitor off and put them on top of the car and then drove off. Some kind person found the heart rate monitor and wrapped it around the sign post but the watch is still missing. If you have seen it, please call Carolyn at 454-7256.

PARADE!
Wake the Kids and Phone the Neighbors! The 5th Annual River of Lights Lantern Parade is happening in Waterbury, Saturday December 6th. At 5 pm sharp the parade leaves Thatcher Brook Primary School and travels 1/4 mile to Dac Rowe Park (just off exit 10). There will be a big bonfire and smaller warming fires, hot chocolate, and fire dancers. One thousand lanterns! Brazilian and African drum bands! Did I mention this would be BIG? Did I mention that it is FREE? In the time of year when darkness hangs heavy over our days... come see the lantern parade. You will be very glad you did. - from your Berlin neighbor, Peg Monley

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA
On Saturday, December 13, 2014 the Wreaths Across America Ceremony will be held at Hope Cemetery at Noon. This ceremony takes place at the same time annually all across the nation. The Capital Composite Squadron happily extends an invitation to you, your family, your friends, and co-workers to join us as we honor the veterans of each branch of the armed services.
The Wreaths Across America program began over 15 years ago with the tradition of placing wreaths on the headstones of our Nation's fallen heroes at
Arlington National Cemetery. It has grown to include 286 participating locations, including the Hope Cemetery in Barre. Wreaths Across America ceremonies throughout the country oversee the placement of more than 325,000 wreaths on the headstones of our nations servicemen and women who have sacrificed for our freedoms.
On behalf of this worthy program, last year, the
Hope Cemetery received sponsors for 180 donated wreaths. It is our goal to lay a wreath at every veteran’s grave in the Hope Cemetery as a way to honor them. The Hope Cemetery is currently home to over 2,300 veterans graves.
Each wreath sponsorship is $15.00. Please contact us at capitalcomposite@yahoo.com if you'd like to sponsor a wreath. Wreaths Across America has obtained 501(c)3 status, making all donations tax deductible.

ANNUAL
HOLIDAY BAZAAR FOR STUDENTS NEEDS DONATIONS
The Berlin Parent Teacher Neighbor Association (PTNA) could really use your help with donated gift items for the annual Holiday Bazaar at the elementary school.  The children shop for one item for each member of their immediate family.  Items are free thanks to generous donations.  These items can be gently used items, handcrafted, or perhaps items from a dollar store, or another place where you can find a good deal.
In particular, gifts for teenage brothers and dads are always in need.  Some ideas include: IQ Wooden Puzzles, dress socks, ties, tools, Frisbee, flashlights, fishing tackle, gloves, & sports paraphernalia .  Other ideas: Mugs filled with a few items and wrapped in cellophane, a frame for a photo or artwork, card games, puzzles, books, ornaments, craft sets, scarves and puzzle books (Sudoku/Word Search/Crossword).
The PTNA could also use assistance on the day of the event to help children wrap the gifts, this will be on Wednesday, Dec 17th.  For more information contact Vera at 522-3603
