Once in a while it's personal posts I include and this time it's in
reference to the boys:
Our oldest son, Michael, had moved out of the area and a job offer has
brought him back. He is single with college debt and looking for an inexpensive
efficiency apt. or room with kitchen privileges in the Berlin / Montpelier / Waterbury area. Non-smoking. Parking. High speed

Our youngest son, Clark, is in search of a job
related to his Sport Management major (Coaching minor) at Ithaca College
(IC). At IC for Intramural Sports he is
the Supervisor, Office Assistant, and an Official along with being a High
School basketball official. This year,
and continuing next year, he is a Resident Assistant in the dorms. Jobs/Internships
he is looking for: Camps, Facilities (management), Fitness, Recreational
sports. Whether it's specific positions

VOTING RESULTS
412 votes were cast for
Town Meeting 2015. There were three
funding requests voters turned down - Kellogg-Hubbard Library, Good Beginnings,
and OUR House. All other funding
articles passed. The Town and Elementary
School passed. Also the five sending
towns passed the U-32 budget. Details
can be found on the Town website or on the "Berlin , Vermont " facebook page. Also on the facebook page are photos from
Town Meeting.
412 voters is out of 1,800
on the check list which means 23% of our registered voters made the decisions.

A Night on the Town – A Prom for Adults! Hosted by the U-32 Theater Community Family!
On Friday night, April 10th, come to U-32 for an evening of great food and dancing with music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Social time starts at6:30 , dinner at 7:00 , and DJ dancing music until it’s time to go home. Child care
will be available by donation.
Special non-alcoholic beverages and hors d’oeuvres in the Atrium at6:30 . Dinner will be
mostaccioli pasta with meat or marinara sauce, mixed veggies, homemade rolls
and tossed salad. Desserts will be from our U-32 theater community family.
Tickets in advance are $20 per person or $29 for a couple – see a U-32 theater student or contact Sue Verchereau at sverchereau@u32.org. Tickets at the door are $25 per person or $34 per couple.
A group of four couples can reserve a table and make it a fun evening with friends.
All proceeds go toward the students’ upcoming August trip to perform at the Fringe Festival inEdinburgh , Scotland !

GROWING
RICE IN CENTRAL VERMONT
Thursday, March 19th starting at 6pm , "Growing Rice in Central Vermont "
Growing rice in Vermont is possible and you can do it too. Come hear Sjon Welters,
of Rhapsody Natural Foods, speak on how he has grown rice over the past 6 years
and find out the details on rice cultivation - from a simple bucket to
paddy-style. Sjon Welters started off growing rice with 30 seeds he'd gotten
during a rice growing workshop at a NOFA conference 7 years ago. Now his family
is eating their own Cabot-grown rice planted in paddies in the back of
Rhapsody's tempeh shop. A Transition Town program. This will be held at Kellogg-Hubbard Library, Hayes
Room.

SPRING FEVER DINNER / DANCE AT BES
Friday, March 20th at 6pm is when you should head for Berlin Elementary School to enjoy soups by Chef Martin Smith, fresh breads,
music by the Stormcats and more. Tickets
are $30 per family of 4, $25 per couple, $15 per individual. All proceeds will go tot he 5th & 6th
grade students going to Boston 's
Freedom Trail.

March 23rd! Cost per child for Farm
League, Minors, and Majors is $35 for the first child, $25 for the 2nd child,
and $15 for the 3rd child per family.
Tee-ball is $25, then $15 per child after.

Must have proof of current rabies vaccination. Those who do it after 4/1/15 pay an increased fee. The Town Clerk's Office is open Monday
- Thursday 8:30am - 3:30pm (not closed during lunch). This can be done by mail if
getting into the Town Clerk's Office is a challenge.

STATE SCHOLASTIC CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 28th Annual Vermont State
Scholastic Chess Championships will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Berlin Elementary
School in Berlin , VT. All Vermont
students from Kindergarten through Grade 12 are eligible to compete for State
Championships in nine divisions -- each grade Kindergarten through Grade 6,
Middle School (Grades 7 & 8) and High School (Grades 9 -12).
The tournament will be
USCF rated and follow USCF rules. Swiss pairing will be used, so all players
will play every round (no eliminations.) All abilities are welcome and
encouraged to participate!
Registration
is from 8:30 AM until
9:30 AM .
Games will start at 10:00

Town of Berlin Highway
The Town of Berlin has an opening in the Town Highway Department for an experienced equipment operator-highway laborer. This position performs a variety of tasks associated with
highway maintenance tasks.
Applicants are required to have the ability to operate large trucks with snowplows and wings.
Candidates must be in good physical condition. Experience driving 10 wheel trucks, operating highway equipment and construction skills will be given preference.
Candidates must to possess a Class B
Mandatory overtime is required as conditions dictate.
